Check Clinical Lab Results

We use the Argo software to assist you with clinical laboratory
test interpretation. The Argo software works by matching your test results
with conditions and diseases in a medical knowledge base created by Descipher from the
medical literature.
To use this program, you need to know the basic characteristics of your lab test results such as high, low, or normal; present or absent; positive or negative; and the like. If you do not have this information, you will need to obtain it from your doctor or laboratory. These characterizations of your lab test results are already interpreted by the clinical laboratory director as to whether or not they are normal. We do not use the actual lab numbers because they may vary according to the patient characteristics, test methods, and other laboratory-specific factors. Each laboratory director, a trained and certified professional, determines the criteria for judging the abnormality for each test. In general, these criteria vary among laboratories and even among instruments within a laboratory. When the Argo software matches the combination of your input with predefined patterns, it generates lists of potential causes. Our goal is not to make the diagnosis, but to attempt to include the true diagnosis in a list of possiblities while making the list as short as possible. We do not always achieve this goal but are continuously striving to improve our performance. If the list of possibilities is too long we may not display it. You will need more test results to make it shorter. We hope this is a useful tool for you to use. Check frequently asked questions for more information. |
